目前网上（电子）续签已经开通，以下是两种申请方式，网上申请比较便捷，强烈推荐。
A) 网上申请续签：

Step 1  – Assess your eligibility

    * Determine if you are eligible by using our VisitorSelf-Assessment Tool or reviewing the eligibility criteria.

Step 2  – Register

    * First, you will need to obtain a Government of Canada ePass,and then register with MyCIC.
    * Visit CIC Secure Online Services for more information.

Step 3  – Apply

    * Once registered with MyCIC, you can apply online.


B）邮寄申请表格：
父母探亲续签材料相对比较简单，一般容易获得批准。除了填写续签表格和交费外，我还会附上一封coverletter 或者叫Guarantorletter. 这封信主要是保证在续签期间继续给父母提供财政支持，包括生活，医疗，旅游开支等。至于续签理由，常用的有以下几种：
1）旅游还没有完成，很多地方还要去；
2）还想到美国转转；
3）想冬天留下来一起过圣诞节或者想等夏天的时候好好体会加拿大的夏天，多到一些地方去旅游。
4）如果小孩小，一方读书，一方上班，没有时间照看1岁以下，尚不适合送daycare的小孩，也可以实话实说，需要帮忙Take care baby.

除了附上保证信外，还有提供相应的收入证明，比如 jobletter, ET income, Business income，paystubs 或者银行存款证明等。如果你也刚好符合想用第四条理由（只要小孩小，这条理由可以用2次也没有问题），可以参考我用过的续签材料：一封资金担保信（信里同 时说明续签理由），一封JOB LETTER,一封学校出具的上学证明。

What You Need To Apply Online

You need to have the following documents and information available before youcan begin your Online Application:
Your valid passport or travel document.*  
Proof of your status in Canada   
If you are appointing a representative (an immigration consultant, lawyer,friend, family member, etc.) who will conduct business with Citizenship andImmigration Canada (CIC) on your behalf, you will need your completed Use ofRepresentative form (IMM5476).  
If you are granting authorization for Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)to share information about your application with someone else, you will needyour completed Authority to Release Personal Information to a DesignatedIndividual form (IMM5475).
Your completed fees receipt OR a credit card for online payment.
If you are applying for an Off-Campus Work Permit you must have completed anEligibility Verification Request and you will need your EligibilityVerification Number (EVN).
If you are applying for an Off-Campus Work Permit you must have completed anEligibility Verification Request and you will need your EligibilityVerification Number (EVN). You must submit your Eligibility VerificationRequest online to obtain an EVN.
Once you obtain your EVN, you can apply for an Off-Campus Work Permit.
*If you are from the United States, Greenland, or St. Pierre and Miquelon andyou do not have a passport, you must have an identity document readilyavailable. This could be your driver’s licence, your Alien Registration Card ora document issued by your country of citizenship or permanent residence. Thedocument must include your name, photo, date of birth, document number and theissue and expiry dates.

What can you attach?

Citizenship and Immigration Canada is only able to access information that issaved using a format supported by Microsoft Word.

Maximum File Size
The maximum size of each file is 2 MB (two megabytes).

Formats Allowed
The following file formats are allowed:

.PDF
.TIFF
.JPG
.DOC
Only one file will be allowed per document type. For example, if you arerequired to provide 5 (five) pages of your passport, you must scan and save all5 (five) pages as one file.

Tips for reducing file size

Extension File Type Tip to reduce file size
PDF Portable Document Reduce the file size of a PDF document by:
·    Recreating the PDF with Distiller set to ‘lowest file size’.

·    Ensuring that all images in the PDF are set to 96 DPI (dots perinch).
·    Deleting all unnecessary images.

.JPG JPG Image Reduce the file size of a JPG image by setting the resolution to96 DPI.
.DOC Word Document Remove unnecessary images, formatting and macros. Save thefile as a Word 5.0/95 version. If the file is still too large, create a PDFdocument.
